At Cantu Pest Control we believe it is important to understand the needs of each individual community and through direct involvement we are able to provide support to those in need in hopes of building better communities and neighborhoods. We have built a foundation for our non-profit involvement based on our belief that as a business we should help those in need.
Helping Others in the Past
McKinney Food Pantry
Cantu Pest Control has been a driving force that helps communities get and stay on their feet for the past 25 years. Historically, we have participated with food donations from all our employees for the McKinney Food Pantry every November, just in time for friends and families to come together for Thanksgiving. The Community Food Pantry of McKinney is dedicated to their goal that no one goes to bed hungry, and through this goal a greater one can be achieved– that by helping those in crisis get back on their feet they can again become independent individuals capable of becoming contributing members of society. Cantu Pest Control supports not only helping to feed the needy but to also help those in crisis better their situation.
People Helping People
Since 1985 the organization People Helping People (PHP) is a volunteer based program that helps with minor home repairs for the elderly over 62+ years of age and disabled homeowners. Those who apply for repairs are at or below 50% of the area median income citywide. Cantu Pest Control provides free pest control inspections and services for this group. Other outreach programs include assistance for the homeless by providing homeless prevention, crisis assistance, and PHP’s WIC Program that is committed to helping pregnant women, mothers and their children stay healthy.
Helping to Better the Community One Venture at a Time
In the coming year, Cantu Pest Control will begin to participate further in communities through our continued investment in bringing families hope for the future. It is important to us that we help communities become better places to live by providing sustainability for communities and businesses alike.
Habitat for Humanity
As advocates for Habitat for Humanity, the largest nonprofit homebuilder and the largest single family residential homebuilder in Dallas, Cantu Pest Control’s goal is to turn houses into homes and neighborhoods into communities for impoverished families.
Chamber of Commerce
Cantu Pest Control’s continued involvement is signified by participation in several different cities’ Chamber of Commerce. A city’s Chamber of Commerce is a proponent of growth of local businesses as well as better business practices in hopes of maximizing business performances in the area. Cantu Pest Control believes in helping businesses grow through promoting local economic growth, fostering business-friendly public policies, and serving our members through exceptional programs, benefits and services. Cantu Pest Control works to be a voice for both communities and commercial businesses by holding positions through The Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as well as the North Dallas, Plano, McKinney, and Sherman Chambers.
